Little Lessons from New Testament: Patiently Run

I’m currently reading in Hebrews 12

I love this chapter because I am a long distance runner. Some of my favorite verses are:

  • Hebrews 12:1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

I love this verse because it teaches me that I need to slow down and taking my time. I need to focus on the important things.

  • Hebrews 12:2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Looking unto Christ can help us finish the race. He suffered and died for us so He can help us finish our race. If we look unto Him, we can focus on the bigger picture.

  • Hebrews 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.

This provides peace because the Lord loves me even when I’m out through trials. It helps me feel like everything is going to be okay and trials are for my own good.

Thank you for reading! These were my favorite verses.

Help others along their great journey.
